The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a national level scholarship program in India to identify and nurture talented students. The scheme is open to students of Indian nationality. Only students studying in Class VIII are eligible to appear for the selection process. As it is organized by an official body (NCERT), it is widely regarded as the toughest and most prestigious examination at high school level in the country. Stage I (State)
Last date for submission of Application Form: 31st August, 2011
Examination in Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Andaman and Nicobar Islands: 19th November, 2011 (Saturday)
Examination in all other states and UTs: 20st November, 2011 (Sunday)
Stage II (National)
Examination in all states and UTs: 13th May, 2012 (Sunday)
Note: However, dates for Stage- I examination may vary from State to State.

UGC NET December 2009 Application Deadlines
Date of UGC NET December examination: 27.12.2009
Date of UGC NET December Notification : 24.10.2009
Date of close of sale of application form through banks and online submission: 06.11.2009
Applications received after the last date will not be entertained.
Those candidates who do not receive their Admission Card (Roll Number) for appearing in the UGC-NET till 23rd December,2009, are advised to contact the office of Registrar/Co-ordinator of their UGC-NET Centres from 24th to
26th December, 2009, with two identical passport-size photographs duly attested by a gazetted officer. No Admission Card (Roll Number) will be issued on the day of the Test (i.e. 27th December, 2009) under any
circumstances.

Britain’s Warwick University arrived at a novel way to attract a top foreign student from India. Working in conjunction with the British High Commission, Warwick offered a four-year engineering course to the winner of an Indian reality TV show called Airtel Scholar Hunt.
