Dissatisfied with Punjab government’s rationalisation of the fee structure of private medical, dental and ayurvedic colleges, the managements of these institutions unanimously decided not to participate in the counselling for admission to their courses from today.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the association of these colleges here on Wednesday.
Daljit Singh, Principal Dayanand Medical College, Ludhiana, said that at the prevailing fee structure, they could not admit new students for the next academic session.
It was learnt that representatives at today’s meeting said that if the fee revision was not immediately done, most of the institutions would be forced to close down, leaving the students in a lurch in mid term session.
