MCI derecognises KMC Manipal and Mangalore MBBS Courses

Medical Council of India (MCI) has derecognised  MBBS Course of both Kasturba Medical College (KMC) in Mangalore and Manipal, putting a number of KMC medical graduates, reports the Hindu dated July 30, 2008.

There were “several inadequacies in the colleges which would not allow students to benefit completely from the course,” said a senior MCI official. Read Complete news >> Details

UGC Scholarships for SC, ST Candidates

University Grants Commission is inviting applications for the award of Scholarships for the year 2008-09 under the scheme of PG Scholarships for Professional courses for SC/ ST candidates.

The scheme has been initiated keeping in view the social background of the candidates from the studies in Professional subjects like Engineering and Technology, Management, Pharmacy etc. in Indian Universities/ Institutions/ Colleges.

Distance Learning Degrees are vaild for Govt. Jobs

All distance learning degrees awarded with recognition from Distance Education Council (DEC) are valid degrees for applying and obtaining central government jobs, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (Ignou) said here Tuesday.

‘The government issued a notification in 1995 stating that all qualifications awarded through distance education by the universities stand automatically recognised for the purpose of employment to posts and services under the central government, provided it has been approved by the Distance Education Council,’ Ignou Vice Chancellor V.N. National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) 2009 for Scholarship

National Talent Search Examination 2009 Scholarship Exam for Class VIII Students

On the basis of the examination conducted, 1000 scholarships will be awarded for each group of students appearing for Class VIII examinations

Selection: There will be two-stage selection process for award of scholarship. For Stage-I, selection will be done by States/UTs through a written examination. Students who qualify Stage I will be eligible to appear for Stage II examination conducted by NCERT.

34 New non IIM Management Institutes to use CAT 2008 Scores

34 New Management Institutes to use CAT 2008 Scores - Apart from seven IIMs, CAT 2008 will also decide fate of aspirants keep to join over hundred leading B-schools. According to CAT bulletin released on June 12, a total of 102 B-schools will be officially using the CAT 2008 scores.

Around 41 Institutes who earlier ware using CAT scores for their admission process have opted out this year.
